常見名詞復數的不規則變化：
（1）單復數同形
sheep-sheep綿羊fish-fish魚
deer-deer鹿
（2）字母oo變ee
foot-feet腳tooth-teeth牙齒
goose-geese鵝
（3）字母a變e
man-men男人woman-women女人
（4）只有復數形式
people人們police警察clothes衣服
（5）復合名詞變復數，一般只在末尾名詞的詞尾加s，如果涉及性別時，則都要變復數。
mandoctor-mendoctors男醫生
womandoctor-mendoctors女醫生
lemontree-lemontrees檸檬樹
（6）其他名詞復數的不規則形式
child-children兒童
mouse-mice老鼠
ox-oxen公牛
注意：有些名詞經常以復數形式出現但不表示復數。e.g.maths數學
不可數名詞常被視作單數。
